Hyperlipidemia, the elevation of lipid concentrations in plasma, is the manifestation of a disorder in the synthesis and degradation of plasma lipoproteins and may also reflect a high - fat diet. A major concern in patients with hyperlipidemia is their increased risk of ischemic heart disease.

FINATE^® 160 tablet contains Fenofibrate, a drug of the fibrate class. It is mainly used to reduce cholesterol levels in patients at risk of cardiovascular disease. It reduces low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) levels, as well as increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels and reducing triglycerides level. It is used alone or in conjunction with statins in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia.

FINATE^® 160 also reduces serum uric acid levels in hyperuricaemic and normal individuals by increasing the urinary excretion of uric acid.
